Okay, let's talk about something positive and share some highlights from the trip, including some of the yummy food that I ate.
Airport Eats:
We had perfect beach weather, so we definitely needed to take advantage. I <3 the beach. I spent my time on the beach splashing around in the waves, walking, and reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. Has anyone else read it? It is SO good.
Five Loaves Cafe:
My favorite restaurant meal over the weekend was our lunch at Five Loaves Cafe. It was SO good. I was a little nervous to go there because we went straight from the beach, and I was literally wearing a baseball hat and covered in sand. My sister assured us that since Charleston is a tourist/beach town, people go places in their swimsuit cover-ups. Luckily Five Loaves has an outdoor patio so we didn't feel too silly.
Overall, I had a wonderful mini-vacation, while spending some family time with my mom, Rachel, Rachel's husband Matt, and their doggy Skittles. I tried to make healthy food choices, while at the same time being relaxed and saving room for treats like frozen yogurt and wine.
Do you do "make your own" meals with your family?
