Since I am stuck here, I thought it would be a good time to update everyone on my 2014 weight loss progress. In summary, things are not going well. When I have talked to various people about my struggles, here are a few comments I've gotten from my friends & family. These are probably all true.
- From reading your blog, it seems like you are eating out a lot.
- Since you aren't cooking as much, you are probably eating too much processed food.
- The older we get, the less we need to eat. If you are gaining weight, simply eat less.
- Are you happy with the amount of peanut butter you eat, or do you want to cut back?
Hmm. All good points, but let's tackle one thing at a time. This week, I loaded up on groceries and dedicated myself to preparing healthy foods at home with whole ingredients. Here are a few of the winners:
Both of the meals I prepared made enough for leftovers, so at least I have eaten 4 homemade, healthy meals this week. Here is my complete dinner plan for the week:
Saturday: Quiche Cornbread & mango
Sunday: Oh She Glows Salad
Monday: Cereal & mango
Tuesday: Leftover broccoli & sweet potatoes, Earth Fare brand mushroom rice veggie burger
Wednesday: Cheesy Zucchini Spaghetti
Thursday: Supposed to be on a business trip- we'll see if I can get to the airport!
Hope all my friends are staying warm & safe in this storm, let's hope we can dig ourselves out soon!
