As someone who's family includes a "meat and potatoes" husband, I'm always looking for sneaky ways to incorporate vegetables. When I see a veggie-rich recipe with comments that even kids will gobble it up- I know it will be a winner in my house. This uses an entire head of cabbage, but just tastes like a delicious bowl of rice & shrimp.
This creation is based on a recipe I found here. I used to make this exactly as written with the ground beef & sausage, but in efforts to cut out the red meat I started to use shrimp instead. Both versions are delicious. For added flavor, I recommend using a can of broth instead of a can of water, and adding in hot sauce to taste.
